• How do I claim my repeat customer discount?

    Guests who have stayed at Hawkes Point before are entitled to a 10% discount on the full rate of their holiday. The discount is not available during July and August or in conjunction with any other offers.

    To claim the discount:

    Guests last stayed prior to 1st March 2015 – please call our office when booking and we will apply a 10% discount over the phone, in the future you will be able to book online and claim the discount.

    Guests staying after 1st March 2015 – You will have been sent login details for your Hawkes Point My Account, if you use these login details when booking you will automatically receive your discount on all eligible breaks.

  • Is there mobile signal at Hawkes Point?

    Being based in Cornwall, by the coast and on a hill we’re not in prime mobile signal area unfortunately. The lower apartments suffer the most and certain networks are more favourable than others. We find Vodafone and connected networks to be the worst effected, O2 probably the best and EE somewhere in between. Most guests receive mobile signal on balconies or in the car park at the very least, but weather and season do have an effect. Each apartment has access to WiFi so if your network allows WiFi calling and texting we advise you turn this on.

  • Can I have an early check in and/or later check out?

    Our check in and out times are 4pm and 10am respectively. We would love to get you into our apartments sooner and to have a late check out, unfortunately it takes a long time for our dedicated housekeepers to prepare our properties to the high standards you expect. If you are intending on arriving to Carbis Bay earlier than 4pm do let us know but please don’t expect the property to be ready.

    Check out is strictly 10am unless agreed in writing with one of the team.

  • What do you include in the rental?

    Molton Brown toiletries, some goodies on arrival always including milk, tea, coffee and sugar, actual contents varies seasonally. Fairy Liquid, dishwasher tablets, 2 x toilet rolls per bathroom, cling film and foil, reasonable usage of utilities and of course luxury linen, fluffy towels and robes.

    We supply ice cream on arrival during July and August.

    WiFi and car parking are also provided with every booking.

     

  • Is there any flexibility on arrival day?

    We offer flexible arrival days at certain times of the year as displayed on our website but if you would like to discuss alternative dates please do contact one of the team. We will always do our best to accommodate your needs.

  • Is parking included?

    Yes, each apartment has one allocated space in our electronically gated car park behind the building.

    If you require additional spaces there is a public pay and display car park a short walk away and various on-street options within easy walking distance.

  • Is WiFi provided?

    Yes, all apartments have their own WiFi access point and at Hawkes Point we are connected to Cornwall’s superfast broadband network.

     

  • Do you provide bed linen and towels?

    Yes each bedroom will have luxury bed linen and the beds have two pillows per person.

    We provide fluffy white towels including a bath sheet, bath robe, hand towel and face cloth per person as well as a bath mat in each bathroom.

  • What deposit do your require?

    A 25% non refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. If a booking is made within 4 weeks of arrival date then the full rate is required.

  • When is the balance due?

    The 75% balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival date.

  • What do I do if we need to cancel our holiday?

    The first step should be to read our cancellation policy, then follow the instructions and speak to our team who will be able to help. Our cancellation policy can be found in clause 2 of our terms and conditions.

  • Do you accept pets? Are dogs welcome?

    We do not allow pets at Hawkes Point under any circumstances. Assistance dogs are welcome but please let us know prior to booking so we can recommend the most suitable properties for both you and your dog.

    If you require pet friendly accommodation we do know of some great properties in Cornwall that welcome animals so contact the team and they will be able to help.

  • Can you provide non-allergenic bedding?

    Yes we can, we know how frustrating feathers can be for some. Please request non allergenic bedding at least 10 days in advance of your arrival and our housekeeping team will arrange.

  • Do you allow children in the properties?

    Yes with open arms! We can also provide travel cots, high chairs, baby monitors, a steriliser and bed guards if needed. Please request these items 10 days prior to arrival.

  • What is there for children to do in the local area?

  • How close to the beach is Hawkes Point?

    We are a five minute stroll to the beautiful blue flag Carbis Bay beach which offers sailing, kayaking, SUPs and is a great beach for swimming and paddling. Porthkidney Sands, a quiet stretch of sand to the East is a 10 minute walk away and Porthminster to the West is a 10-15 minute walk away.

  • Will my apartment have laundry facilities?

    Each apartment has its own washer dryer for your laundry needs. You will need to bring your own washing powder.

  • When do you service the apartments?

    We service the apartments on departure unless you are staying for 10 days or more, in which case we will offer a mid-stay linen change and ‘spruce’.

    If you would like your apartment to be serviced more regularly we can arrange this as an additional service, just ask one of the team.

  • Will my property have central heating?

    All our properties have underfloor gas central heating.

  • Does it matter what time we arrive and how do we get the keys?

    Check in is from 4pm so we ask guests not to arrive before this time but you may arrive anytime after as we use a keysafe system. You will not be required to meet a member of staff on arrival.

  • Will I need a car during my stay?

    We are conveniently located a 2 minute walk from Carbis Bay train station and we find many guests prefer to travel by train than by car. You can walk (25 mins) or catch a train to St Ives (5 mins), Penzance or other destinations very easily.

    To explore West Cornwall there is a bus service, which is especially good in the summer months when you can catch the open top bus.

    With an abundance of beaches, restaurants and things to do in St Ives and Carbis Bay it is not unusual for our guests to not use a car during their stay.

  • One of my party suffers from allergies, what do I do?

    Allergies come in all shapes and forms and we will do our utmost to assist where possible. The best thing to do is let us know when you book a property. We can place hypo allergenic bedding in, replace the gluten and dairy products in our welcome gifts and replace your bottle of bubbly with a non-alcoholic drink if preferred.

    This is just a start, so don’t be afraid to talk to us.

  • Can I use my parking space prior to check-in?

    We often need car parking spaces during changeover days for housekeepers and tradesmen so we ask you don’t arrive prior to 4pm.
